Welcome to Montana and an excellent view at what used to be a fuckhuge glacial lake and dam, which carved the scablands all the way in Washington.
okay so this deserves to be rebloggable because that is the most amusing thing I’ve ever heard omfg good luck at his wedding because omfg c:
“I think dad wants us to pick up where he left off.”
fandom are you okay

K, thanks.
Alright, since you keep posting about it. The problems with Talisa have been much discussed by the fandom. I don’t loathe Talisa, but she is a problematic character, because she is a cliche, and A Song of Ice and Fire is very much about subverting the usual…
So if I understand right, Talisa was created for the show? If that’s true, the fact by itself that they had to write a new character for Robb’s wife instead of using GRRM’s character is pretty stupid.
Well from what I’ve heard it was GRRM who created Talisa as well because he wanted to make her a completely new character from Jeyne.
And regarding her story being dull and whatever else was said above: her story is not fully developed. We don’t know the exact circumstances of how she got into Westeros, we don’t know her other skills aside from nursing (which is a pretty awesome skill). And sometimes even characters who look boring can turn out to be great if they are given the right amount of time.
[deleted this bit when I reblogged because it’s a major spoiler- ToT]
You heard wrongly about GRRM. He had nothing to do with the creation of Talisa as a character. D&D decided on the love story, and George asked them to change the character name because Jeyne is not a Volantene name and she is a new character. This is a similar reason to why he asked them to change the name of Vargo Hoat, because they had changed his character so drastically and he is no longer a Qohorik (he’s Locke, in the show.) George did not create Talisa, at all.
Nursing is a great skill, but it doesn’t change the fact that Talisa as a character undermines the world GRRM created in Westeros, with the struggles for women, and there is no story development that will change that.
You just hit the nail on the head with this, for me anyway. I couldn’t put into words why I didn’t like her character, and you just did it perfectly.

OH MY GOD
(Source: hawk-and-handsaw)
at monash university in melbourne the women’s department had a bake sale and cupcakes were one dollar for men and eighty cents for women and seventy cents for trans* people to represent the wage gap and heaps of guys kicked off about it being sexist and that’s how i finally understood how hypocritical and ignorant men’s rights activism is
to be fair that is pretty darn sexist… why cant stuff just be EQUAL for everyone?
PLEASE DON’T IGNORE THESE
people fucking died there
I don’t know what reblogging will do, but I will say that so far the articles I’ve read online about this haven’t said anything about deaths. So maybe by reblogging, we’ll call attention to world news and governments and get them to look at the situation more closely, and hopefully intervention will take place.
I just
I don’t know.
I feel useless.
